Day 3 – New Muscles/Old Injuries

Hello! So I promised to keep you all up to date and that is what I am going to do! Good, Bad and the times when I have pure hatred towards running. haha. :]

Well today was day three of training for my half marathon. 3 Miles Monday. 2 Miles yesterday. 3 Miles + Strength Training today. Not too bad until I got to today. I worked all day and then finding the will to go run 3 miles and do strength training was pretty challenging. I think that is going to be the hardest part of training this summer. Some days I have to be at work at 7:15 and then do not get out until around 5. When you work all day (in the heat) the LAST thing you wanna do is go run or strength train or whatever. Well today I got out and went and ran my 3 miles – horrible time (at least for me). I was tired and hungry and my feet were hurting. I will not be posting any of my times because I am striving to be better than myself, not better than anyone else. I don’t want to compare myself to anyone else, I just want to constantly better myself and my runs and workouts. etc. Anyways – Strength training went well but I am EXHAUSTED. I can already feel the soreness setting in. A big fear I have right now is coming back from a torn bicep(I was in a sling for a month). I tore it a few months ago and trying to build that muscle up again is painful and hard. Any suggestions? Tomorrow is suppose to be my rest day which will be nice. :] I’m excited to start seeing my body change and for my times to get better. Well that is all I have to say for now. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Love A.

Thanks for joining me on this journey.

  1. The only thing I’d suggest is to listen to your body. If you tore that muscle not too long ago, then be slow, but deliberate in how you train with it, and if something doesn’t feel right, take it easy. A good way to keep in shape or train your whole body that isn’t too intense is swimming. Good luck and keep us posted!
